Weddings at The Ladybower Inn

A Peak District wedding celebration with a little more character.

Bring the people you love together for food, drinks, a wedding reception and an overnight stay at a real country inn beside Ladybower Reservoir. Relaxed, personal and deliberately different from the traditional wedding venue.

Good to know: The Ladybower Inn does not hold a wedding ceremony licence. Your legal ceremony takes place elsewhere, then you come to Ladybower for the reception, celebration, food, drinks and stay.

Your Wedding, Less Formula

For couples who would rather have a great pub than a wedding factory.

Ladybower is for the couple who wants good food, good drinks, their favourite people and a Peak District setting — without feeling that the day has to follow the same template as everybody else's.

Have the legal ceremony somewhere that matters to you, then bring everyone together at the Inn. We can talk through the food, bar, bedrooms, timings and how much of Ladybower you want to make your own.

The Celebration

Make Ladybower the part of the day everyone remembers.

The legal bit may happen somewhere else. The eating, drinking, laughing, photographs and time with everyone you care about can happen here.

  • Wedding receptions and celebration meals
  • Pre-wedding drinks and gatherings
  • Post-wedding lunches and relaxed next-day get-togethers
  • Bedrooms for the couple, family and closest guests
  • Exclusive-use enquiries for couples who want more of the Inn to themselves
  • Food, drinks and timings shaped around the style of the day
More Than One Way to Do It

Your wedding does not need to fit into somebody else's package.

Ladybower works particularly well when the celebration feels personal rather than over-produced.

Wedding Reception

Come to Ladybower after the ceremony.

Bring everyone together for food, drinks and the celebration once the legal ceremony is complete elsewhere.

Wedding Stay

Turn one day into a little more time together.

Add bedrooms for the couple and closest guests so nobody has to rush away when the evening ends.

Wedding Weekend

Drinks before. Celebration. Lunch afterwards.

Use Ladybower as the base around the wedding itself, with the details shaped around your dates and plans.

A Real Country Inn

It should still feel like Ladybower when the flowers arrive.

The stone, timber, fires, pub tables, bar and Peak District character are the reason to choose us in the first place.

We do not want to turn the Inn into an anonymous function room. The strongest celebrations here will work with the building rather than against it: good tables, thoughtful flowers, candlelight, proper food, a full bar and people having a genuinely good time.

For larger or more complex celebrations, a personal showaround is the best way to understand how the pub and outside areas could work for your day.

Stay at the Inn

Keep the people closest to you close by.

Ladybower has seven bedrooms with standard accommodation for up to 18 guests, making it particularly useful for smaller wedding groups and couples who want their closest family and friends onsite.

A Midweek Idea

What if you hired the whole pub for your wedding stay?

For smaller celebrations taking place from Sunday evening to Wednesday, our Hire Your Own Peak District Pub package can give you all seven bedrooms and the staffed pub exclusively for your group.

From £1,695

The first-night package is for up to 7 guests and includes all seven bedrooms, dinner, breakfast, packed lunch and exclusive use of the pub during the agreed private-use period. Additional guests are £75 per person per night, up to the normal maximum of 18.

The Peak District

A setting that already feels like an occasion.

Ladybower Reservoir, the Upper Derwent Valley, Hope Valley and the surrounding hills mean your wedding guests are travelling somewhere that feels worth the journey.

The setting also gives you options around the celebration: photographs in the landscape, walks the following morning, scenic drives and a proper Peak District stay for guests making a weekend of it.

Wedding FAQ

A few things worth knowing before you enquire.

Can we legally get married at The Ladybower Inn?

No. The Ladybower Inn does not currently hold a wedding ceremony licence. Your legal ceremony needs to take place elsewhere, but you can then come to Ladybower for the reception, celebration, food, drinks and overnight stay.

Can we hire the whole Inn for our wedding?

Full exclusive-use enquiries can be discussed. The exact arrangement and price depend on the date, timings, food and drink plans, bedrooms required and the style of celebration.

How many wedding guests can stay overnight?

The seven guest bedrooms provide standard overnight accommodation for up to 18 guests.

Can we have a wedding weekend at Ladybower?

Yes, depending on availability and the structure of the celebration. We can discuss pre-wedding gatherings, the reception or celebration itself, bedrooms and post-wedding food or drinks.

Can we bring our dog?

Yes. Dogs are welcome throughout the pub and all seven guest bedrooms are dog friendly. Bedroom stays carry the normal £25 one-off dog cleaning charge, with a maximum of two dogs per room.

Can we come and look around before deciding?

Yes. For wedding enquiries, we would encourage a proper conversation and showaround so you can understand whether Ladybower suits the celebration you have in mind.
